Claire is a mixed-media textile artist whose work is inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of British Columbia. Through layered textiles, watercolor, and carefully chosen natural elements, she creates richly textured, three-dimensional artworks that capture not only the beauty of nature, but also the peaceful feeling of being immersed in it.
Largely self-taught, Claire transformed her lifelong passion for paper and textiles into a professional career when she launched her own stationery company in 2003. Over the years, she has developed a distinctive collage technique that combines transparency, luminosity, texture, and depth to create original, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Each artwork is thoughtfully handcrafted in her Richmond, British Columbia studio, where she also designs and produces her collection of one-of-a-kind greeting cards using the same signature mixed-media technique. Every piece reflects her love of the West Coast—from sandy beaches and forests to driftwood, shells, and the quiet beauty found in nature's smallest details.
Claire's work is exhibited at art and craft markets throughout Metro Vancouver and can also be found in selected galleries and retail shops. She welcomes commissions and enjoys creating meaningful, personalized artworks for private clients. Sharing her creative process is equally rewarding, and she teaches art classes that encourage others to explore their own artistic voice.
Giving back to the community is an important part of Claire's journey. She volunteers her time with local arts organizations, serves on the board of Artist in Our Midst, and is a member of Watershed Artworks Gallery.
Through every artwork she creates, Claire hopes to bring a sense of calm, wonder, and connection to the natural world into people's homes.
Her home studio is located in Richmond, overlooking a large park. It is a bright, cosy little space where she feels inspired to create.
